Range Rover Studio Silence Cabin: Cost in 2026

The Range Rover L460 (2022+) ships with one of the best factory NVH packages in the premium segment — acoustic glass, double bulkhead, active noise cancellation through speakers. But Autobiography and SV owners want 'studio silence' — Maybach S or Bentley level. St. Petersburg 2026: 280k-950k RUB, from premium tier to full 'studio' level with factory-material replacement.

The Range Rover L460 — fifth-generation 'real Range,' built from 2022 — ships with one of the best factory NVH packages in the premium segment: acoustic glass on all 6 windows, double engine bulkhead, active noise cancellation through 35 Meridian Signature speakers, factory wheel-arch absorber. That's already good. But Autobiography and SV owners (with P530 V8 BiTurbo and P550e PHEV) often want 'studio silence' — Mercedes-Maybach S 680 or Bentley Bentayga territory. Different budget, different work. Here are 3 levels above factory in St. Petersburg 2026.

Range Rover soundproofing tiers

Base L460 Vogue — factory sound is excellent, no work needed in 90% of cases. Autobiography (22-23" wheels with 285/40 or 295/35 tires) — wheel roar at speed, premium tier makes sense. SV LWB on 23" with 305/35 — Maximum or Studio for those who hear the difference. Below are real St. Petersburg premium-tier ranges in early 2026 for owners who find factory sound insufficient.

Before/after measurements: what 'studio silence' means

Studio silence is 38-42 dB at 110 km/h. For reference: library — 30 dB, stock Range Rover Vogue — 52-55 dB, after Studio — 42-44 dB. The 10-13 dB delta is half as loud subjectively. In a Studio cabin you can comfortably whisper, hear your seatmate's breathing, take a phone call without raising your voice. Without full strip-down you can't get there — factory absorption has 8-12 dB of headroom.

L460 specifics

  • Acoustic glass on all 6 windows. Factory. We don't touch it; perimeter sealing on acoustic glass is pointless and damages seals. Soundproofing builds around it.

  • Active noise cancellation. Meridian Signature uses 35 speakers to anti-phase road noise. After soundproofing we recalibrate — cabin acoustics change and factory tuning isn't optimal anymore.

  • Double engine bulkhead. L460 has a dual-skin firewall with perimeter gasket. Plus for the work — bulkhead doesn't come off. For Studio we add a 3rd absorber layer on the hood instead.

  • Air suspension and adaptive damping. Range on air + adaptive damping. Arch soundproofing requires height marking and recalibration via Topix dealer interface — we have it.

Timeline and process

Premium — 7-8 days. Maximum — 10-12 days. Studio — 14-18 days. Studio includes: 1) full interior strip to bare metal, 2) factory felt out, replaced with premium Decquiet 800 (Range already uses Decquiet 600 from factory), 3) 7-9 NVH layers per arch (vs factory 4), 4) extra absorber on the headliner (Maxlevel Silver, 2 layers), 5) acoustic gasketing under trim, 6) Meridian DSP retune. All in a climate-controlled bay at 18-22 °C. Sound-meter measurements before and after with a printed report.

FAQ

Worth doing Studio on a fresh Range Rover Vogue?

Vogue on base 22" wheels — factory sound is great, Studio gains 3-5 dB only the perfectionist hears. Premium tier (8-12 dB) is the sensible move. Studio justifies on Autobiography with 23" wheels and SV LWB where 10-13 dB is felt immediately. Decision is a baseline measurement at the studio.

How much weight does a Range gain after Studio?

Studio adds 140-180 kg. On a 3.0-3.2 t L460 that's 4-5%. Fuel — +0.5-1.2 L/100 km combined. P530 V8 acceleration (0-100 in 4.6 s) — barely noticeable change. P400 R6 — 0.2-0.3 s slower 0-100.

What about Land Rover warranty?

On L460 still under warranty (up to 3 years) we coordinate with the dealer. We use original Land Rover clips and screws. Air suspension and adaptive damping recalibrate via Topix (dealer interface) — we have it. On SV (especially handcrafted SV Bespoke) we recommend either waiting until warranty expiry or going through a JLR-certified shop with full interface access.

Will the Range 'sound different' afterwards?

Cabin resonance shifts — low frequencies (engine, tires) drop more, highs (mirror wind) drop less. So the V8 BiTurbo P530 sounds 'muted' after Studio — some owners read this as a downside (they want to hear the exhaust). On P550e PHEV it's a plus — the EV mode is quiet and the V8 only kicks in occasionally.

Can soundproofing be undone later?

Technically yes, but it's 8-12 days of work with risk to factory clips and trim. Removal cost: 180-300k RUB. Most owners don't go back — after Studio the Range is 'a different car' and nobody wants to lose that. Some strip it pre-sale to restore stock weight for the buyer's test drive.
